WHATSAPP BLOCKED IN CHINA BY CHINESE GOVERNMENT

WhatsApp has been reported to be non-functional in Mainland China. WhatsApp is said to have been blocked by the Government. Unlike on the previous occasion where WhatsApp was blocked in the Country and unblocked after few days no one knows when this recent blocking will be reversed.

New York Times has said that WhatsApp has been “broadly disrupted in China”
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is yet to say anything on the blockage. The reason for the blockage is yet to be made known also but we suspect that is likely to be due to the communist party congress dimmed to hold next month in the country. This might be due to the strong encryption feature that WhatsApp uses in the bid to be in full control of the security. Other Apps like Skype has not been blocked because they lack strong encryption.
If the App is not unblocked it could shake facebook relationship with the Chinese Government and as well affect business that uses WhatsApp in their business daily.
Facebook has been banned some time ago in mainland China, though Facebook went ahead to build the Chinese version of its private-photo sharing app (moment). The App is distributed unknowingly in China under the company name of Younge Internet Technology without the awareness of the Chinese Government until New York Time exposed the news
Facebook built a censorship tool last year that could please the Chinese Government who banned Facebook, but with the exposure of the Chinese version of moments and the blockage of WhatsApp, yesterday is really going to make Facebook and Chinese Government relationship not to be good at all.
As Facebook and WhatsApp continue to grow to unlimited heights in other regions of the world, China has remained untapped.

With the Facebook issue in the USA, fake election news of interfering with the Russians operatives, Facebook might not have the time to establish talks with the Chinese Government.
