Zagat which was established in the year 1979 by Tim and Nina Zagat. Zagat is a restaurant review service and was acquired b by Google in September 2011 for about $151 million.

Zagat which part of the Google map project and managed by a small number of Google employees, seems to have lost its relevance in Google’s quest for local search enhancement as the Search Engine giant increases talks with many companies on the sale of the service.

The talks about selling the service are informal and Google has not officially made a statement, hence the tendency that a deal might not happen is high.
